The Sanders family legacy was highlighted in the NFL this week. Both sons of Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders made their professional debuts. The brothers both produced plays that made the fans and critics notice.
Shedeur Sanders was the inaugural player out of the two. The quarterback made his NFL debut with the Cleveland Browns on August 8. He began NFL training camp as the fourth-string quarterback, but with injuries giving him an opportunity, he entered against Carolina, with Cleveland winning 30-10 against the Panthers.
Just days later, Shilo Sanders made his debut with Tampa Bay. The undrafted safety entered in the second half at the Buccaneers’ preseason match against Tennessee. He wasted no time establishing himself on the field, with Tampa Bay winning the game 29-7 against the Tennessee Titans.
The Bucs made an Instagram post where fans flocked to share their thoughts on the Sanders brothers.

“Best birthday gift ever! I know Coach Prime is proud!,” said another fan.
“The Sanders boys were raised RIGHT!! With character, standards and morale! Love to see it!”, said a fan.
“Both Shilo and Shedeur both won their first games that’s hard💪🏽🔥”, another fan acknowledged their debut victories.

“Shilo is a true treasure!!!! 🤩🤩🤩”, commented another fan.
The Buccaneers have an extremely deep roster at the safety position, but Sanders’ exciting first game has given him a chance to compete against that depth and potentially move up the depth chart.

Shilo Sanders Makes Immediate Impact in Tampa Bay Debut
Shilo Sanders has started his own debut story with Tampa Bay. An undrafted safety, Sanders entered the Buccaneers’ preseason game against Tennessee in the second half.
On Sanders’ first defensive series, he registered Tampa Bay’s first quarterback hit. The clean blitz and hit on Titans quarterback Brandon Allen occurred right after Allen released the ball.
Sanders fought his way to the Buccaneers as he finished his college career at Colorado as an undrafted free agent. Sanders is also competing for special teams roles while attempting to make the 53-man roster.
The next Tampa Bay Buccaneers preseason matchup is Friday, August 16, 2025 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which will be at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, and at 7:00p.m. ET.
