Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning is predicted to land five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. The five-star recruit is currently committed to Ohio State, but his latest visit to Eugene may prompt him to change his decision on National Signing Day.
This is a big update since if the flip does happen, Oregon will benefit from another incoming five-star talent in their receiving corps to join breakout freshman Dakorien Moore in 2026.

After the prediction hit the internet, fans started reacting with some taking a dig at Dan Lanning’s Oregon.
“Massive L for this kid,” one fan commented.
“Things Are Heating Up Between WeCantRecruitButWill Pay University In Ohio & WePayButStillCantWin In Eugene 👀” one fan added.
“I guess the check from Nike cleared,” one fan mentioned Oregon-based apparel giant.
“Let him go. Ohio state gone whoop the 🦆” one fan added.
“He was committed to Hartline and not the school apparently. Good luck to him,” one fan wrote.
“Bro wore Ohio s*it during every game of high school since he committed 😂mad weird ngl it’s cool tho osu giving Oregon belt again,” one fan wrote.
Chris Henry Jr. went to Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, California) after previously playing at Withrow High School and West Clermont High School. He is the son of the late wide receiver Chris Henry. The five-star recruit measures about 6′5″ and 205 pounds.
One scouting report from Charles Power read:
“Jumbo receiver with a rare combination of size, athleticism, and coordination as a young prospect. Has good length, with arms around 34 inches. Tests as a strong athlete with good speed at his size in the combine setting. Flashes functional movement skills at his size, showing the ability to sink his hips and change direction with ease. Touts good ball skills and catch radius.
“Tracks the ball over his shoulder and can win in jump ball situations. Sustained a season-ending knee injury as a junior, missing most of the year. Heading into his senior season, his production is below average for a top wide receiver prospect. Has a strong pedigree as the son of the late NFL wide receiver Chris Henry. Will need to capitalize on more extensive reps and continue developing, but has a very high physical upside.”

Chris Henry Jr. Admits Dan Lanning’s Oregon High Up In His Evaluation
In February, when he visited Eugene, he said that while he is committed to Ohio State but Oregon is not far behind in his evaluation.
“Oregon’s really high with me,” Henry told ScoopDuck. “They’re right under Ohio State for me. They’re pushing hard and I let them know it’s not gonna be easy to flip me. They’re trying their best for sure.”
Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline was the major reason why Henry committed in the first place. But now that Hartline has taken the job at USF, there is a good chance that Henry Jr. can flip.
