Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt has already visited the LSU Tigers, along with Kentucky and Texas Tech. The Tigers have a new sheriff in town with Lane Kiffin taking the head coach office in Baton Rouge.
On Tuesday, On3 reported that Leavitt will be visiting Tennessee on Wednesday evening. After learning this update, LSU fans are confused about what’s taking so long to commit.

“LSU whiffing???” one fan asked.
“Bro pick a team already 🙄” another fan added.
“I can’t tell if Leavitt and his team have the best NIL plan I’ve ever seen or if they are backpedaling and don’t know how to handle it,” one fan commented.
“LANE IF THE GREATEST COACH THANK YOU FOR DEMOND WILLIAMS,” one fan joked.
“So Williams to LSU and Leavitt to TENNESSEE what is going on?” one LSU fan appeared confused.
“Did Lane not lock him in?????” one fan asked.

LSU May No Longer Be an Option For Sam Leavitt If Demond Williams Jr. Commits
The LSU Tigers are searching for a quarterback after Garrett Nussmeier exhausted his collegiate eligibility after his fifth season. Under Lane Kiffin, the Tigers are searching for a quarterback through the transfer portal, and they have already been linked to multiple high-profile quarterbacks.
Sam Leavitt was one, and Demond Williams Jr. was another. Williams Jr. had an agreement in place to play for the Washington Huskies next season but he has still entered the NCAA transfer portal. He’s reportedly using a “do-not-contact” tag.
The Tigers have reportedly offered more NIL money to Williams Jr. than Washington did. Since Williams Jr. have back stepped on his signed agreement to play for Washington, the program is contemplating taking legal steps to enforce the agreement.
Williams started for Washington in 2025, throwing for over 3,000 yards with 25 TDs and adding significant rushing production. If the Tigers do end up signing Williams, they may no longer be in a position to land Sam Leavitt, who threw for 2,885 yards on 61.7% completion rate. He had 502 non-sack rushing yards while adding 29 total touchdowns and against just six interceptions in 14 games.
