Earlier in the week, top high school football prospect and Colorado Buffaloes commit Julian Lewis posted a video on social media highlighting his passing skills ahead of the 2025 college football season. The clip shows Lewis completing various different passing drills and consistently connecting with his receivers throughout.
With quarterback Shedeur Sanders leaving the Buffaloes program and heading to the NFL next season, there appears to be a chance that Lewis will start for the Deion Sanders-led program in his freshman college campaign.

The Buffaloes also brought in Kaidon Salter from the Liberty Flames via the transfer portal this offseason, something that opens the door to a potential quarterback competition in the preseason.

Next, one person praised Lewis’ footwork and release in the video.

Finally, one Buffaloes fan detailed how they thought that Lewis should be the QB1 of the program.
“QB1,” they added.
Colorado Buffaloes 2025 Preview
The Buffaloes are expected to look extremely different next campaign, as many top players are likely to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
More specifically, Sanders and dual-threat wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter are both projected to be taken within the top 10 this year, both of whom were key members and leaders on and off the field for the Buffaloes this past year.

However, despite some NFL speculation earlier in the offseason with the Dallas Cowboys, Coach Prime appears to be set to return to the Buffaloes for at least one more year, something that will unquestionably ease the transition the program is currently undergoing.
As alluded to, there is a chance that Lewis is entering a quarterback competition this year with Salter. While it remains to be seen who leads the Buffaloes in their first game of the 2025 season, it is evident that fans are excited about Lewis’ talents after his recent video on social media.
