CFB Fans React to Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia’s Bold Comments on Non SEC Conferences

Diego Pavia has been trending in the college football world over his blunt statements during the latest appearance on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast.

After winning another year of eligibility, Pavia was clear on his mindset about wanting to play for Vanderbilt despite getting lucrative offers from other schools, even offering him $4M in NIL money.

While he reportedly got an offer from another SEC school, he was hellbent on the fact that he does not want to play in a conference like the Big Ten.

While telling the hosts about his decision to reject such offers, Pavia said that his reasoning to come back to Vanderbilt included the fact that he wanted to play the best and even shared that he ignored calls from the Big Ten schools who wanted to reach out.

“You’ve got to think about this, too. The SEC is, like, nothing. Like, okay, the Big Ten, you have Ohio State, Oregon. The SEC, it’s like week after week. You’re going to get beat on. The Big Ten, you’re not gonna get beat on with the Purdues, Nebraskas,” he added.

Reacting to this, many college football fans expressed their frustration over Pavia’s disrespectful comments to the Big Ten:

“Dude is name dropping Purdue and Nebraska like Vandy isn’t the Purdue of the SEC,” one fan wrote.

“SEC’s gotten so cocky that even Vandy thinks they can talk now,” another fan added.

“You play for vandy bro. Yes you are getting beat on every week,” another fan poked fun at Pavia.”

“To be fair he does have experience playing against a couple Big Ten teams. But you have to go all the way back to 2022. He played against Minnesota and Wisconsin. Lost 38-0 and 66-7. He has a career 33% passing percentage (8/24) with an average of 32 passing yards a game with a QBR of 12.3! He also has zero passing or rushing touchdowns. His average rushing yards a game against big Ten teams is -7 ypg. Also has an interception against Big Ten teams. So all in all he averages 25 ypg against the Big Ten teams. Maybe he should sit this one out,” another fan boldly expressed their thoughts.

“Last 2 Natty winners – Big Ten. Vandy football is a punching bag for the SEC, so he’s right about that but that doesn’t help you. Vandy is the Nebraska of the SEC,” another fan highlighted Big Ten’s achievement.

“Kind of ironic coming from the quarterback of the team that falls in to that “Purdue, nebraskas” category for the SEC,” another fan noted.

Vanderbilt will kick off the 2025 college football season against Charleston Southern Buccaneers on August 30.
