The Auburn Tigers’ search for a new head coach has finally come to an end after reportedly hiring South Florida Head Coach Alex Golesh to fill in the void left after Hugh Freeze’s firing earlier in this season. “Lmfao this school is poverty”, stated a fan.

“Why don’t i just drink bleach ?”, said a fan.

“Yay. Another unproven G5 guy that will be overpaid”, remarked a fan.

“SEC loves hiring coaches who get their ass kicked by navy”, commented a fan.

“Had to google the guy to see where he been”, stated another fan.

“At least I know he’ll never beat Georgia”, wrote another fan.

“The dominoes are falling now”, commented another fan.

Golesh’s hiring comes after Auburn University fired head coach Hugh Freeze at the start of November this year after a 15-19 overall record and 6-16 in SEC play over two-plus seasons, with the Tigers also owing Freeze $15.8 million in buyout.

Golesh Sees Massive Salary Jump With $44.4 million Contract

Auburn hired South Florida’s Alex Golesh with a six-year contract after he led USF to a 9-3 record this season.

Golesh’s contract is reportedly worth $44.4 million dollars over the course of six years, with an annual salary of $7.4 million, a massive jump from his previous $15.3 million job back in South Florida.

Golesh had been with USF since 2023, boasting a 23-15 record, and one of his recent highlights this season also includes an enthralling 16-18 upset over Florida back in September. Under his tenure, the South Florida Bulls emerged victorious in two bowl games, with the 45-0 shutout in the 2023 Boca Raton Bowl being the largest in NCAA history.

Before inking a new contract with Auburn, the 41-year-old Golesh was previously linked with other programs, which included turning down Arkansas rumors to coach the Tigers.
