“This Is Crazy”: Fans Demand Reps for Shedeur Sanders As Dillon Gabriel Continues To Struggle at Training Camp

Former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders has found himself in one of the most complicated QB rooms in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns. While the team does not have a definitive starting quarterback, it has four players competing for the job: Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders has done a good job of going about his business and avoiding drama when it comes to who will earn the starting job. However, many Cleveland fans have not been as calm. On Saturday, after Dillon Gabriel threw an incomplete pass, a fan yelled for the coaching staff to put Sanders in, according to a report from insider Daryl Ruiter on X.

This led to a big reaction as many fans started to call for Shedeur Sanders to get more reps at training camp.

“I’m glad. This is crazy. Give Sanders a chance. He can’t keep throwing to trainers every day,” one fan wrote.

“Not fair on either on them, terribly run organisation, just awful,” one fan commented.

“The noise will only get louder. Browns are trying to avoid it as best they can but they need to stop fighting it,” one fan added.

Fans continued to react in the comments.

“Can they hear me all the way from NC? They will next Friday when I’m sitting right behind them lol,” one fan wrote.

“Just give it time. Fans always seem to turn on the quarterback. Shedeur won’t be an exception,” one fan commented.

“If they truly believe he wasn’t good enough to play it should be easy for them to just put him out there so the fans can see for their self,” one fan added.

Dillon Gabriel Struggled on Friday, Leading to Fans Calling for Shedeur Sanders To Get More Reps

It is still early in training camp, but it is starting to become clear which quarterbacks are favored by the Cleveland Browns coaching staff. Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett are getting most of the first-team reps, with Gabriel getting some reps. However, Gabriel had a particularly bad performance on Friday. While playing on the second team against the second-team defense, he completed only three of 14 passing attempts.

According to a report from insider Daniel Oyefusi, Gabriel’s struggles continued on Saturday. His struggles could lead to more opportunities for Shedeur Sanders, but Joe Flacco still appears to be the favorite to be the Week 1 starter.
