Alabama Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer has seemingly turned the tide when it comes to the narratives that are being driven towards his way. This is because on Saturday, Sept. 27, the Crimson Tide took on coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs for their respective week four matchups of the 2025 collegiate football season in the latter’s home stadium.
Once again, coach DeBoer’s Crimson Tide was able to defeat coach Smart’s Bulldogs, 24-21, which has been a growing trend in the recent timeline of the sport. With this, all the narratives that were being pushed towards DeBoer’s firing for his lackluster outings have seemingly been put to a halt, with how he dominated a standout coach in Smart.
College football fans and spectators on social media, including the Crimson Tide faithful, are trying to change the narrative on DeBoer with how he dominated Smart once again this year.
“Kirby Smart getting totally outclassed and out coached by Kalen DeBoer AGAIN!!!!,” one fan exclaimed.
“Kalen DeBoer and Ryan Grubb straight up out coached Kirby Smart tonight. And it really wasn’t particularly close,” another user said.
“Kirby smart really needs to figure out why Alabama keeps getting the better of him. He’s only beat them once. That’s unacceptable. You mean to tell me u can’t beat Kalen DeBoer? 2 straight years he’s outcoached you, bro. That’s EMBARRASSING,” another fan explained.
Other users all over X/Twitter were quick to call out all of the naysayers and narratives driven on a growing call to fire DeBoer from the helm of the Alabama coaching staff.
“People who wanted Kalen DeBoer fired: I hope you are having a great night,” one fan shared with a GIF of DeBoer coaching his Alabama team.
“All of the Kalen DeBoer haters are down BAD,” another user asserted.
“So, does anybody still want to fire Kalen DeBoer?,” a fan asked.
Coach DeBoer’s Crimson Tide is now set to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in their home pitch on Saturday, Oct. 4, for their week five matchup of this year in the hopes of turning their current record into 4-1. Smart and his Georgia team now look to get back in the win column, hopefully against the Kentucky Wildcats on the same day, on their home turf.

If there is one thing that has stayed consistent with coach Kalen DeBoer’s tenure with the Alabama Crimson Tide, it’s the fact that he has won against coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs on almost all of the occasions that the two programs have met. This is because DeBoer’s Crimson Tide now has a commanding 7-1 record against Smart and the Bulldogs, dating to their annual matchup.
