Clemson’s offense got off to a horrific start against Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Tigers’ quarterback, Cade Klubnik, made a costly error in the first quarter by turning the ball over. The turnover was a disaster for head coach Dabo Swinney and his team, as it most definitely put them on the back foot. It also drew the attention of frustrated fans who were outraged on social media.
As Clemson struggled out of the gate, harsh criticisms turned toward the quarterback online. The viewers at home quickly flooded X with negative comments.

“Cade Klubnik has to be the most overrated Quarterback in all of College Football “, stated a fan.
“Cade Klubnik needs to be benched, that kid is killing Clemson’s football program”, said a fan.
“Cade Klubnik’s PR has been one-of-a-kind for years. Feels like he always disappoints”, remarked a fan.
“Cade Klubnik for Heisman all offseason when he has done nothing but be a disappointment his entire career never made sense to me”, stated another fan.
“Cade Klubnik has always stunk. So many people were fooled. So many”, said another fan.
“Clemson fall off is generational man, cade klubnik just killed his stock might not even be a 5th rounder rn”, remarked another fan.
“What was with all the Cade Klubnik hype this yr? This kid fuckin blows”, shared a fan.
After the first quarter, Georgia Tech is up 3-0, with Georgia Tech having amassed a gross 134 total yards, and Clemson tallied just 66.
Klubnik’s Costly Fumble Put Clemson On the Back Foot
The turnover came at a crucial time, just as Clemson’s defense came off a big stop where the Tigers’ defenders had a huge stop on Georgia Tech on a fourth-and-two inside the 10-yard line. The stop at least delivered the Clemson offense the ball back with a wave of momentum.
And just like that, the momentum vanished with the first offensive series. On a read-option play, Klubnik kept the ball and was met by Georgia Tech defender Zion Taylor, who forced the fumble. Georgia Tech recovered the ball, flipping the field entirely.
After the field goal, Clemson’s offense had another chance as they were able to drive the ball across midfield. The drive stalled and included a long field goal attempt. Kicker Nolan Hauser tried from 52 but missed, leaving the drive with nothing to show for it.
At the end of the first quarter, Georgia Tech hold a 3-0 lead, and it will be interesting to see if the circumstances change any further.
