The Missouri Tigers made the first splash on the scorecard against the Alabama but their wild celebrations resulted in the Crimson Tide scoring their own touchdown.
In the first quarter, Missouri suffered from several penalties including a taunting call from Missouri defensive Zion Young against Alabama’s receiver. Young flexed his tackle with the receiver down. He was called for taunting as Missouri suffered the penalty, giving Alabama another first down.
Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson led the offensive march, connecting with running back Kevin Riley on a 6-yard touchdown pass to tie the game.
Internet ran wild, calling out the taunting penalty made by the officials. Several came out to make such penalties inadmissible in the game.

Before Alabama Tied The Game, Missouri Scored The First Touchdown
Before several penalties and Alabama’s touchdown, Missouri scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. Tigers quarterback Beau Pribula threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brett Norfleet along the right sideline, capping a six-play, 78-yard drive that took 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Notably, 52 of the 78 yards on this drive were gained on the ground.
The Southeaster Conference showdown between Alabama and Missouri is being played at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri. Alabama was No. 8 with Missouri at No. 14 entering this game.
In the first quarter, Alabama managed 115 total yards, including 78 passing yards. Meanwhile, Missouri gained 85 yards, including 59 yards gain from their rushers. Alabama did well in third down opportunities, capitalizing all three times. Alabama has forced Missouri to punt once in the first quarter.
