The biggest reason for this top grade was their selection of Sanders in the fifth round at No. 144 overall. However, Kiper was also impressed with Cleveland’s quarterback room, which is stacked with five talented players.
Since then, Sanders has gained massive media attention, sparking discussions about who will be the starting QB for the Browns this season. Many who are asking that question have backed Coach Prime’s son as the best option in the role.
Former New York Giants wide receiver Isaiah Stanback is among those who want to see Sanders in the starting role. Speaking on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” he didn’t hold back in his assessment of Sanders’ potential.
“I’m buying it all the way. I don’t care where [Shedeur Sanders]’ draft position was,” Stanback said. “He has not only talked about it, but he has shown it from the time he was a youth all the way to the time now he’s in the league, I don’t care how crowded that room is. Unless they give it to Flacco, he is going to win that job. ”
And he’s not alone in that belief. Browns fans are also excited, with some hoping Sanders can light up the league just like he did in college and cement himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL within the next year. Cleveland also wants him to shine, but excitement alone won’t win games.
