It’s only the second year since the 12-team College Football Playoff structure was adopted. So, there’s still a lot of confusion around CFP, and there are people who believe it’s diluting the quality of playoff football.
This year, the Tulane Green Wave and the James Madison Dukes managed to make it to the playoffs because of the new structure. Unfortunately, both teams played their final game today against strong opponents.
Tulane went against the Ole Miss Rebels earlier today and were thrashed by them in a humiliating 10-41 loss. Green Wave turned out to be a mere stepping stone for the Rebels to advance to the quarterfinals.
The Dukes, on the other hand, are also struggling against a very strong Oregon team. Midway through the third quarter, the Ducks are leading 48-13. Unless something extraordinary happens late in the game, Oregon is walking out with an easy win.
The football purists have been angry over the new format. The blowout losses indicate that teams like Ole Miss and Oregon aren’t facing good opponents. Amid the rising frustration, Ryan Clark chimed in with a post on X.
“Ok, CFP. This was a nice experiment. Now cut the crap and get the 12 best teams next time,” Clark wrote.

Clark’s frustration is understandable. Fans want to see high-intensity, competitive football. Unfortunately, matching up against heavyweights isn’t even giving these teams a chance to put up a good fight.
The reality is that the two games haven’t felt like playoff battles. At the same time, it’s also important to give opportunities to these teams, especially when they’ve worked really hard for it and have provided results in the regular season.
More importantly, it’s unfair to pretend like Power 4 teams don’t suffer blowout losses on their bad days.

Ryan Clark Backtracked His ‘Musical Profiling’ Claims
Over the years, Ryan Clark has developed a reputation as a whiner in the NFL circle. There’s always something he is upset about or has issues with. Oftentimes, his complaints are absurd in nature.
As a result of the image, when he attempts to put something out with a sarcastic or funny touch, or so he claims, it gets misinterpreted. On 19th December, he posted a video on X talking about how he has been “musically profiled in Ubers.”
“The [driver] doesn’t even ask me. He just changes the radio. First song, All Eyes On Me by Tupac. That’s not even one of the songs I listened to from that album,” he said.
I’m tired of being musically profiled in Ubers! Don’t get me wrong. I love Pac, @50cent, @richforever , @champagnepapi, & @kendricklamar… But I don’t need them blaring on Sunday morning. What about some gospel?

He tagged a bunch of artists, stating that he listens to them and would prefer being asked about his preference next time. Understandably, fans mocked him for the same.
Hours later, Clark came back to that post and revealed that he was trying to be funny and that it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. He ended up calling people “dummies” for not getting his alleged humor. The internet calls it ‘rage-baiting.’
