With the 2025 NFL Draft mere hours away, teams are beginning to hone in on the guys they will choose. Players are looking to achieve their lifelong dream of making it to the NFL, and that all begins tonight at the 2025 NFL Draft. While the draft is an exciting time, we could also see some interesting things get picked up.
This exciting time can see rumors beginning to circulate, some of which could just be very outlandish. With the Chicago Bears rumored to be picking Ashton Jeanty tonight, this ex-ESPN Veteran warns against believing any of the Bears-Jeanty hype, despite the draft markets going wild.

Former ESPN Analyst Calls Out Hype Around Ashton Jeanty and Bears Pick No. 5 Rumors
On an X, formerly Twitter, post, NFL analyst Warren Sharp predicted that Jeanty is now expected to go with the No. 5 overall pick, but not to the Jacksonville Jaguars … to the Chicago Bears. Yes, the market could believe that the Bears trade up in the draft to land their running back.
The Bears are looking for a running back or a tight end in this year’s draft class. Odds are equal in what position the Bears will pick for their first pick in this year’s draft, and it’s either a running back or a tight end. While this could be the case, could the Bears trade up to land Jeanty?
No team has invested more in the running back position since 2020 than the Detroit Lions. Ben Johnson, while he wasn’t the General Manager, was in Detroit for all those years and drafts. Very few teams will use a running back more frequently than the Bears next year, and they could very well try to land Jeanty.
Ex-ESPN Analyst Doug Kezirian is seemingly not buying into the hype around Jeanty and the Bears at the fifth overall pick rumors. Kezirian took to X, formerly Twitter, to acknowledge this issue.
“Draft markets should not be treated with similar credibility as that of games. They are extremely volatile. He may wind up there, but the markets are soft as can be.”

Will the Bears trade up to potentially land Jeanty? Well, that remains to be seen. The only thing we do know for sure is that the Bears are expected to be in the market for a running back or a tight end, and with Warren for sure being gone by the time the Bears make their pick, could we see them trade up to try and land the best running back in this year’s class?
