Cleveland Browns 2025 draftee Shedeur Sanders took to social media this week to dismiss a rumor involving him and a viral video of a luxury car that the rookie allegedly purchased.
The video, posted on Sunday, May 25, by the account “Dov Kleiman,” went mega-viral with 4.5 million views and over 850 replies—mostly criticism aimed at Sanders. Notably, “Kleiman” isn’t verified, and while the account often posts real news, some of its posts have been proven to be fake news.

“I’m Focused On My Team” — Shedeur Sanders Denies Luxury Car Purchase
Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is gearing up for another round of preseason workouts with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, but is dealing with another rumor pointing to his penchant for being flashy.
In the video, posted Sunday, a dark green custom Rolls-Royce was allegedly being delivered to the Sanders family estate in Canton, Texas.

Despite being drafted in the 5th round, Sanders had performed phenomenally thus far in Cleveland.

“Inspirational,” the post reads. “Browns star rookie QB Shedeur Sanders bought himself a custom Rolls-Royce worth over $500K,” Kleiman wrote: “Despite being drafted in the 5th round, Sanders had performed phenomenally thus far in Cleveland. A much-deserved gift to himself.”
Sanders reposted to the video with the caption, “Lies – I’m focused on my team not a car purchase!”
Another lie…. I’m focused on my team not a car purchase ! https://t.co/yRK1lvpgR6

Still, it’s unclear what Sanders is calling a lie. In the video, the filmer — allegedly his brother, Deion Jr., is facetiming with Shedeur, who asks, “My car got there?” or something similar. Shedeur is also seen when the camera pans to the facetime call.
The video has spurred more debate over Sanders’ signing bonus with the Browns after he was selected by them in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He signed a rookie deal with the team that’s worth $4.6 million over four years, and reportedly received a signing bonus of $446,653 along with it according to USA Today.

Sanders’ deal pales in comparison to his NIL money he had while a member of the Colorado Buffaloes, which was valued at $6.5 million toward the end of his career. He’s joked about the difference before with reporters, notably during a press conference earlier in May when asked if he was going to buy the number 2 from DeAndre Carter.
“I’m not trying to buy anything,” he said to reporters for the Browns’ media day. “My signing bonus ain’t that high right now.” But it’s a strong possibility that he might be getting the chance to boost his payday soon with more endorsement deals.
