Ex Bengals CB Provides Massive Health Update on Deion Sanders, Discusses Timeline for Return

Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones enjoyed a fishing tour with Deion Sanders at his massive Dallas estate in Texas. He was there last month, making him the closest aide to get an update regarding Sanders’ health since the head coach has been away from Boulder in the last two months and so.

On Tuesday, Jones, during an appearance on “Bet Online”, provided an update on Sanders and the fishing expedition he had there.

“Had a chance to go see Deion,” Jones said. “He’s doing really good. Hey, bro. The property that Deion has, 200 and some acres. Oh my God. Like, I’m talking about no neighbors. I had a chance to go fishing. I caught some big a*s bass, bro.”

About when the Colorado coach would return, Jones said:

“Deion’s doing good. I think he’s got another week at home before they get started. He’ll be there. He’ll be ready to go. Deion is doing good. And thanks to everybody that has been praying and sending good thoughts and good prayers his way. He’s good.”

Going by Jones’ update, it seems like Sanders may get back to Boulder in time for the season opener against Georgia Tech scheduled on Aug. 29.

What Exactly is CU HC Deion Sanders Suffering From?

It remains unknown what exactly Sanders is suffering from that led him to miss summer camps in Colorado. But the closest answer to it can be traced back to May, when during a podcast, Sanders said that it has gone to “whole another level” because of which he had to lose 14 pounds. That’s a massive weight loss, which means what Sanders is suffering from is no joke.

Sanders has had issues with his health. He had to amputate both of his toes due to blood clots four years ago. Not to mention the nine-hour surgery on his foot in 2023.

Sanders’ presence is important for Colorado. After his arrival, the Buffaloes went from being a 4-8 team to a 9-4 team in a year. Prior to his hiring there, the Buffaloes were off a one-win season.

However, Sanders won’t have his two key offensive weapons in 2025. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders and reigning Heisman winner Travis Hunter have departed for the NFL, leaving a huge void to be filled.

Right now, Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter and freshman Julian Lewis are contending for the QB1 spot. It remains to be seen who gets the nod to start under center for Colorado in 2025.
