The 2025 NFL Draft is upon us, and so is your need to be prepared for all of tomorrow’s stars. Dive into our spotlight on Emeka Egbuka, featuring his scouting report, strengths and weaknesses, his recent draft projection, and where all the experts predict he could land.

Emeka Egbuka’s NFL Draft Scouting Report
Emeka Egbuka is a well-built movement-Z receiver who projects as an impact NFL starter. He offers good overall size for the position and has good strength and athleticism. He primarily aligned in the slot while at Ohio State, but he has the size, athleticism, and separation IQ to move across the formation.
Egbuka is an excellent route runner, who can use head and body fakes to create separation while also using his hands to keep his body clear through stems. He’s a third-down machine who consistently gets open and moves the chains. He has extremely strong hands and outstanding body control over the middle, and after the catch, he’s tough and competitive with the ball in his hands.
Egbuka will likely never be a home-run threat at the next level, as he lacks the deep speed to stress NFL-caliber corners vertically. But ultimately, he’s a valuable high-volume Swiss army knife with multi-level and blocking utility.
Emeka Egbuka’s NFL Draft Projection
In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Egbuka landed in Round 1 with the 29th overall pick. James Fragoza has this to say:
Even with Deebo Samuel joining the squad, I’m taking an all-around WR like Emeka Egbuka in the first round. With Jayden Daniels targeting Terry McLaurin, Samuel, and Egbuka, that’s a receiving attack ready to carry an aging and underwhelming defense.
And in CSN’s recent 3-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Brian Burden had this to say about Egbuka’s selection to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Round 1 with the 19th pick:
Baker Mayfield can never have enough weapons in his arsenal, and the selection of Emeka Egbuka in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft gives him another productive collegiate wide receiver to pair with future Hall of Famer Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Jalen McMillan, who had eight touchdowns as a rookie.
Egbuka is a solid (6’1″, 202 pounds) route runner with 81 catches for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns in Columbus last season. He went for 2,868 yards and 24 career touchdowns with the Buckeyes.
