The new Bowling Green State University coach, Eddie George, held his introductory press conference a couple of days ago. The former Heisman Trophy Winner, George, was recently named the new head coach of the Falcons and did so on a brand new five-year deal.
His press conference was about how he hopes to change the culture and build something special at Bowling Green. However, George did leave a great first impression with Ohio, as he cracked up the Press Room.

Eddie George Cracks Up Press Room With First Impressions
After George reminisced about his touchdown that started the “Touchdown Eddie” part of his college career, he spoke about how he fumbled twice two weeks later. He then spoke about how he forgot how “cold” it is in Ohio, which cracked up the Press Room.
But then he got serious and spoke about the rush of memories that came back when he stepped back in Ohio. “The sunsets are different here,” George says. “The people really embrace you, and the community is so strong. They really rally around this university. That feeling of the love here. My wife was so excited when she landed here, and my son was very excited, too. We have a good feeling, and the aura is really good.”
George, who played his college career at Ohio State University, finished with 3,768 yards on 683 attempts while rushing for 44 touchdowns. His long list of accomplishments in college includes, but isn’t limited to, the Heisman Trophy, Walter Camp Award, Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award, Chic Harley Award, and Jim Brown Trophy, and he was a Unanimous All-American.
The craziest part about his accomplishments was that they all came in 1995. In 1995, George played arguably his best season in Ohio State history. He finished with 1,927 yards and 24 touchdowns on 328 attempts. George left Ohio State second in school history in rushing yards, with 3,768 yards, and third in rushing touchdowns, with 44.
“I am truly excited to be the head coach at Bowling Green State University,” George said in the press conference. “Bowling Green is a wonderful community that has embraced the school and the athletics department. We are eager to immerse ourselves in the community and help build this program to the greatness it deserves. I am overwhelmed with excitement and joy for the possibilities this opportunity holds.”

Though Bowling Green State is much different from Ohio State, George is glad to be back in the state that started it all for him. George replaces Scott Loeffler, who left his head coaching job at Bowling Green to be the quarterbacks coach of the Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
