Think that the Eagles are easy money on Tuesday night? Looking to unzip those purse strings on the Zips? If you’re going to take advantage of the Eastern Michigan vs. Akron odds, consider some of the following factors before you part with your hard-earned cash.

Although Akron heads to Ypsilanti with a 19-15 head-to-head advantage in this matchup, Eastern Michigan has won the last three clashes between the two teams. Meanwhile, they haven’t lost at home to the Zips since 2015. Although Chris Creighton’s team has had a difficult season, they have more than enough talent to extend that run with a victory on Tuesday night.

Ultimately, Eastern Michigan vs. Akron odds have the Eagles favored by 4.5 points against the spread. Despite failing to cover in their last two games, they’re 2-0 covering as a single-digit spread favorite against MAC opposition. Akron failed to cover in their last three games, including as a favorite against Kent State. They have covered just three times all season.

The 39-point line is unsurprising given that between the two teams, they’re averaging 34.4 points per game on offense. Eastern Michigan has scored over 20 in their last two games and the Akron defense has had some difficulties this year. Although Akron was held scoreless last time out, they should at least get a couple of scores on Tuesday night.

There are three college football games on Tuesday to compile your DFS team from in Week 12. If you’re new to DFS, Fanduel Superflex contests require you to select a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, and a “superflex” that can be any of the above or a tight end.

Prediction for Eastern Michigan vs. Akron

Okay, so we’ve furnished you with the Eastern Michigan vs. Akron odds and some DFS picks. Now, it’s time to close this thing out with our prediction. Can Akron earn their second MAC win of the season as they look to build momentum into next season? Or will the Eagles fly one game closer to bowl eligibility in a “must win” midweek MACtion matchup on Tuesday night?

Dive behind Akron’s two-win record in the 2023 college football season, and things aren’t quite as bad as you’d expect for a program that hasn’t had more than one conference win since 2019. They’ve been on the wrong side of a one-score game four times this season, including a 29-27 defeat to Indiana in mid-September.

In a game with two anemic offenses, defense is going to be a deciding factor. Akron has forced the second-lowest completion percentage to opposition quarterbacks this year.

For the first time since 2020, they aren’t rooted to the bottom of the MAC for points allowed. CJ Nunnally IV has been a force in the backfield, while Bryan McCoy is one of the top tacklers in the nation.

    MORE: 2023 Bowl Projections

Although Eastern Michigan has allowed the third-most total yards per game and the second-highest yards per carry — Lorenzo Lingard could be in for another 100+ yard night — in the MAC, their defense led by linebackers Joe Sparacio and Chase Kline should be able to contain the Akron offense.

Expect DB Kempton Shine to prove himself capable of capitalizing on an interception-prone Zips unit.

Prediction: Eastern Michigan 23, Akron 17
