Eagles Steal a Nebraska Monster in Ty Robinson and Fans Already See J.J. Watt 2.0

The Philadelphia Eagles may have just found a hidden gem in the NFL Draft. In the fourth round, they selected Ty Robinson, a standout defensive tackle from Nebraska. Robinson, who stands 6’5” and weighs 288 pounds, has the perfect mix of strength, speed, and football smarts.

Ty Robinson Turns Heads with Watt-Like Traits and a 40 Time That Stunned Scouts

The 2025 NFL Combine kicked off with a bang. One of the biggest surprises came from Nebraska defensive lineman Ty Robinson. He ran a blazing 4.83-second 40-yard dash—just a hair faster than J.J. Watt’s famous 4.84. That one run changed everything.

After his standout performance, Robinson was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Now, fans are buzzing to see that same speed and power unleashed in midnight green.

According to an Instagram post highlighting his draft rise, fans have already dubbed him J.J. Watt 2.0 due to his combination of brains and brawn. The post read:

“Eagles fans think they just found the next J.J. Watt, and his name is Ty Robinson.”

“Drafted in the 4th round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Nebraska DT turned heads at the combine with a blazing 4.83u 40-yard dash, faster than Watt’s time, and matched it with a 6’5”, 288-pound frame that screams “problem” for offensive lines.”

“But it’s not just the athleticism that stands out. Robinson was a pre-med student at Nebraska, earning a reputation as one of the smartest players in the draft. Combine brains, power, and freakish speed, and you get a guy who earned the nickname “Vanilla Gorilla.”

“And no, not even 100 men are taking him down. Howie Roseman might’ve done it again.”

During his college career, Robinson dominated on the defensive line, playing in 60 games and earning Second-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2024. His senior season stood out with 37 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and seven sacks, showing he’s ready for the NFL’s physical challenges.

However, despite the hype, some fans are cautious. The excitement won’t last long if Robinson can’t perform at the next level. Nebraska fans are particularly hopeful, but the pressure is on him to prove he can live up to the “J.J. Watt 2.0” name. Time will tell if he can meet those expectations.
