“He Came to Me”: Eagles’ $51,000,000 Worth QB Offers Insight on Conversation With Shedeur Sanders

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts recently extended his contract with the club to about $51 million a year. Hurts spilled the beans on his interaction with rookie Shedeur Sanders during a practice with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.

Zach Berman of The Athletic shared Hurts’ comments on his exchange with Sanders on X.

“I’ll keep the conversation intimate. We had a very lengthy conversation. He came to me and just wanted to talk. I’m always there…giving my perspective on what I see and how I’ve gone about things,” Hurts said. “Ultimately, it takes a great deal of patience and hard work and a sense of resilience. You’ve got to want it. You’ve got to want it. I’m supporting him from where I am and wishing him nothing but the best with his opportunities.”

The video of Jalen Hurts giving a ride to Shedeur Sanders after the latter suffered an oblique injury was posted by Mike Garafolo on X.

The openness of Hurts gives a rare glimpse into the early NFL experience of Sanders. The 2025 Browns quarterback, who fell out of the first round despite a sturdy college career at Colorado, now enters a crowded QB room for the Cleveland Browns.

What’s Next for Shedeur Sanders After His 2025 NFL Debut?

Shedeur Sanders, who was picked in the fifth round by Cleveland, is entering his rookie season with top-tier honors: He was a decorated college player, having won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, the Deacon Jones Trophy, and earning All-American status. His success seems to set a high standard for him as he moves to the professional level.

The quarterback position at the Browns is still up in the air, and Joe Flacco seems to be the obvious leader among the vets, and Sanders is still fourth on the list, according to Bleacher Report.

The performance of Sanders seems to be held to a higher standard as after a strong preseason Week 1 he got an increase in reps. His commitment to work ethic and composure in early practices has already gotten some positive remarks not only among teammates but from his head coach as well according to CBS Sports.

However, a latest injury on Thursday saw Shedeur Sanders miss most of the practice session and could rule him out of the next preseason game against the Eagles on Saturday.
