Last year, after over a decade of waiting, EA Sports College Football 25 was released. During its first week, “EA CFB 25” generated $500 million in sales. Prior to the game’s official launch, 2.2 million people purchased the game’s digital deluxe version for early access. In addition, 600,000 people played the game through EA Play.
Many people are just as or even more excited for the next installment, College Football 26. The standard edition of the game is expected to release on July 10 and will be preceded by the deluxe version on July 7. Along with roster updates, players expect many “quality of life” updates to make gameplay easier.
New Features Rumored To Be In College Football 26
New Songs Reportedly Being Added
As May wrapped up, plenty of breaking news emerged about features reportedly included in EA Sports College Football 26. That included details regarding cover athletes, songs that will be included in the game, and gameplay announcements.
Some songs featured in NCAA Football 26 that weren’t in last year’s edition include “Sandstorm,” “Mr. Brightside,” “Shipping Up To Boston,” “Seven Nations Army,” and “FE!N.”

The inclusion of those five songs adds to the amount of history and excitement for the programs that use them. However, many fans had also wondered if Florida’s “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty would be featured in the game.
Road To Glory Updates
Road To Glory, also known as career mode, is undergoing an exciting update that should make it more appealing than last year’s edition. For starters, as opposed to playing full high school games, you will select specific moments and play them out.
Also, you can select 10 schools that are at the top of your interest list. Each successful moment will increase the interest of those schools. You can commit to a school at any time and also have the option to decommit at any time.
Players can also shrink their list of 10 schools to three and have a hat ceremony. In the hat ceremony, you can even fake out a school and throw the hat off the table before selecting the school you want to join.
Dynasty Mode Updates
Another key improvement to this year’s edition is a much-improved dynasty mode. Recruiting and coaching will be different and much more important.
Also, and most notably, cross-platform dynasty will be added, meaning Xbox users can be in an online dynasty with PlayStation users.
Gameplay Updates
New gameplay features added include defensive techniques. Defense, specifically in the secondary and in forcing turnovers, will be much more difficult. The defender must be facing the ball with his eyes on the ball/cornerback in order to make the play.
This will also impact the throwing motion and the quarterback’s ability to force throws in much tighter windows.
QB DNA
QB DNA, a new feature reportedly being added to the “Madden” series, is also rumored to be a College Football 26 addition.

QB DNA gameplay features give the quarterback more power and responsibility in the game. Some of QB DNA’s features are quarterback ball-carrier moves in the pocket, signature quarterback holds, full animation arm angles on the run, and quarterback height changes, vision, and passing windows.

On a more nuanced note, mobile quarterbacks, especially those with above-average size, will be much more impactful in the new game. They will require opposing defenses to have a designated QB spy to prevent them from rolling out and keep them in the pocket, while simultaneously making sure a wide receiver or tight end does not get open.
EA Sports College Football 26 is scheduled to release on Thursday, July 10. For those wishing to play it even earlier, pre-ordering the game will allow early access.
