We are a few days out from the release of College Football 26, the second edition of the newest college football video game franchise by EA Sports. The same publisher had previously developed the NCAA Football series, but that ended with the 2014 edition due to lawsuits from student-athletes over the use of their name, image, and likeness.
This new edition is called to improve on the huge success of the 2025 edition, which means EA Sports has added several new mechanics and features. One of them, while it seems more of a prank than anything else, will allow players to have some fun with National Signing Day.
That’s right, players will now have the option to fake a commitment with their player during Road to Glory mode. Top recruits traditionally announce their commitments in front of the press, by putting on a cap of the school they have chosen to attend.

For added tension, the recruit is usually behind a table with hats from all their potential schools, and they have to pick the one they want to attend. It’s common for prospects to play with everyone’s nerves when they make their commitments, and pretend like they’re putting on the cap of a school they don’t wish to attend.
You will now be able to do this on EA Sports College Football 26 and have a bit of fun with everyone.
Cade Klubnik is the joint-best rated quarterback of EA Sports CFB 26
It seems like the people at EA Sports couldn’t make up their minds, with three quarterbacks receiving the top rating in College Football 26. With an overall rating of 92, Penn State’s Drew Allar, LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik are the top signal-callers for this edition of the game.
Interestingly, the video game publisher is deviating somewhat from the opinions of the bookies. At the moment, Arch Manning is the favorite to win the Heisman in 2025, but he is barely in the top ten best rated quarterbacks of CFB 26. The Texas signal-caller came in at No. 9 with a rating of 90 overall. Even Oklahoma’s John Mateer is above him, coming in at No. 6 with a rating of 91.
Otherwise, the game sticks to similar predictions to the oddsmakers. Nussmeier and Klubnik are second and third, respectively, while Drew Allar is fourth in the odds.
