EA College Football 26 New Patch: Position Flexibility Without Penalty
In this new fix, players can switch positions within their existing position group without suffering penalties to their skill caps. The groups include:
- Running Back Group: RB – FB
- Offensive Line: LT, LG, C, RG, RT
- Defensive Line: LEDG, REDG, DT
- Linebackers: SAM, MIKE, WILL
- Defensive Backs: CB, FS, SS
- Special Teams: K, P
*This change also applies to ATH (Athlete) recruits.
EA College Football 26 New Patch: Skill Cap Logic Enhancements
As per the new update, skill cap calculations will now be more closely influenced by players’ Development Trait and class year. Younger players with higher dev traits (e.g., Freshman with “Star” or “Superstar” traits) will have higher ceilings, especially when moved to a new position within their group.
EA College Football 26 New Patch: Additional Updates
There have been certain other updates that come along with this patch.
A known exploit involving Coach Points has been patched. Players could previously retire and recreate a new coach to stack coach points. That loophole is now closed.
Moreover, EA has enhanced the Motivator Tier 1 ability (Reach Your Potential) to mitigate the recruiting impact. Previously, players heavily swayed recruits by reaching skill caps at certain positions. But now, this has been sorted.
All of the above changes are live now in the online Dynasty files. Offline Dynasty files will not receive these updates until a future Title Update. EA has confirmed this is in the pipeline. Fans can expect more Dynasty features and improvements to roll out soon.
Earlier in an update on Tuesday, EA addressed several gameplay and Road to Glory issues. Improvement in linebacker mobility, block-kick animation bug of left‑footed kickers resolved, eliminat uion in nintended speed boost glitch in reverse pass plays, stiff arm timing window reduced and a slight increase in interception success rates were among the things improved.
Meanwhile, off the field, the game took a major hit after one of the most popular college football coaches, Deion Sanders, decided not to be part of this game. He will join North Carolina’s Bill Belichick, Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz and Miami’s Mario Cristobal, who will also not be appearing.
