Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola recently gave a message regarding his 2025 college football season-ending injury. On Sunday, Nov. 2, @espncfb on Instagram reported that Raiola suffered a broken fibula during his and coach Matt Rhule’s Cornhuskers’ Week 9 matchup on Saturday, Nov. 1, against coach Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans on the former’s home pitch, the Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Raiola is set to miss a whole year due to recovery, bringing his sophomore campaign to a screeching halt. Despite this, it seems as though Raiola is optimistic about the trajectory of his career, as he reposted the aforementioned upload onto his own Instagram story and included a two-word reaction to the setback.
“God’s story,” Dylan Raiola captioned.

Unfortunately for Raiola and the rest of the Cornhuskers faithful, coach Rhule’s Nebraska team was not able to pull off a victory against the Trojans after their second-year star went down. In the second half, USC bounced back from a 15-3 score that ultimately placed them on top by four points, 21-17, up to the game’s end, even after Nebraska was up by eight points, 14-6, after the first two quarters.
Without Raiola in the mix, the Cornhuskers are looking to finish the regular season strong, with three games left in their schedule. Their current overall record stands at 6-3 (3-3 Big Ten), as their Week 10 matchup is against the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, Nov. 8, in away territory, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
