Penn State Nittany Lions had their worst week over the weekend as not only they suffered their third consecutive loss but they also lost their starting quarterback Drew Allar for the season.
During Penn State’s 22–21 loss to Northwestern, Allar sustained a leg injury late in the fourth quarter. The injury occurred on a third-down play as Allar attempted to run for a first down. In the process, multiple Northwestern defenders hit him. The quarterback stayed on the field for some time before being assisted off the field. Penn State head coach James Franklin, who got fired on Sunday, confirmed that it was a season-ending injury for the quarterback.
In the wake of this, Allar posted snapshots of the unfortunate moment on Instagram. He shared God’s message from Jeremiah 29:11, writing:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”

Allar’s girlfriend Emma Bush reposted the Instagram post on her stories and shared a heartfelt message:
“I love you.”

Since it was Allar’s senior season, the quarterback exhausted his NCAA eligibility. Thus, unless he obtains special waiver from NCAA, his college football career is over.
