    Dillon Gabriel’s Girlfriend Looks Back on Pet Parenthood

    Caswell posted an image of Winston in tribute after she and Gabriel lost the dog due to complications from surgery.

    The caption read, “We ended up putting him down peacefully early this morning. Winnie, we love you more than you will ever know. We will miss your nibbles, bark, and endless kisses to the face. Can’t wait till we meet again in heaven. – dad and mom”

    Winston was always with the couple, even when they visited the Ducks’ practice facility. They playfully debated whether or not he would choose to play on offense in either the running back, wide receiver, or tight end spots.

    They also compared his speed to that of Ducks wide receivers Tez Johnson and Terrance Ferguson.

    Recent Instagram Post Celebrated the Couple’s Pet Anniversary

    The couple shared a post of when they first got Winston a year ago.

    It showed Caswell’s Instagram post, which read, “We picked up our sweet Winston a year ago today…Mom and Dad miss you more than anything in the world. You brought so much joy into our lives. I hope you are playing and zoomy-ing around in heaven. Love you so much.”

    In November of last year, her Instagram account showcased her new tattoo dedicated to Winston. Her post read, “For my sweet Winston. Gabriel also discussed Winston at Big Ten Media Day on July 25, saying he was heartbroken.

    “I’m good,” Gabriel said. “Heartbroken, sorry. It can be a lonely world at times. In the sport we play, you navigate a lot with all we go through. Just having someone that understands you, it’s powerful.”
