IN PIC: Shedeur Sanders’ Teammate Dillon Gabriel Shares the Spotlight With Paige Bueckers During On-Stage Appearance

Shedeur Sanders shares the Cleveland Browns quarterback room with fellow teammate and rookie Dillon Gabriel. The rookie from the Oregon Ducks recently shared the stage with the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft, Paige Bueckers.

On Thursday, Gabriel’s fiancée Zo Caswell posted pictures of the Browns quarterback sharing the stage with Bueckers during the “What Drives Winning” show. The event, hosted in an auditorium setting, brings elite athletes to discuss performance, leadership and mindset.

Caswell posted two snaps, one from during the event and the other of all three of them posing together in an outdoor setting.

Bueckers and Gabriel are just coming off an excellent college season and are stepping into a professional league. Bueckers led the UConn Huskies to the national championship before being drafted by the Dallas Wings as the first overall pick. She earned the All-Star selection after averaging 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists.

Meanwhile, Gabriel, who led the Ducks to the College Football Playoff, was picked in the third round by the Browns in the 2025 NFL draft. He’s just a few days away from the training camp. He’s part of a quarterback room that includes fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders, veterans Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Deshaun Watson.

Browns QB1 Race: Dillon Gabriel Gains Early Edge Over Shedeur Sanders

We’re just weeks away from preseason games, and yet the Browns have not decided who’ll be starting for them as QB1 in the absence of Deshaun Watson, who tore his Achilles tendon last season.

However, a recent report from NFL insider Mary Kay Cabot, Dillon Gabriel has taken an early edge to start over Shedeur Sanders.

“(Gabriel’s) superpower in the competition is his computer-like processing speed and decision-making,” Cabot said. “During spring practices, including rookie minicamp, organized team activities, and mandatory minicamp, Gabriel looked solid and held his own.

“Thanks to his quick grasp of the terminology and playbook, Gabriel worked with the starters at his times during OTAs and minicamp, and also received his share of 11-on-11s. Sanders didn’t get as many of those high-level reps in those sessions.”

At the moment, Joe Flacco appears to be the one who’ll take the reins in the early part of the season, but Gabriel taking an edge over Sanders means that in the near future, if the Browns decide to go with the rookie, it will likely be the Ducks standout first.
