Saturday’s showdown between Texas and Vanderbilt was touted to be a highly anticipated clash but it quickly turned into a one-sided affair as the Texas Longhorns took a 17-0 lead after the first quarter over the Commodores, displaying crazy dominance.
Diego Pavia, the Vanderbilt quarterback who had been riding a wave of momentum this season, found himself on the wrong end of fan reactions as a lot of jokes poured in on X following Arch Manning and the Longhorns’ onslaught.
One fan described the on-field scenes between Pavia and Manning with a hilarious Bronny James GIF, essentially calling Pavia “fake”.

The Texas Longhorns still continue to comprehensively lead the with a scoreline of 24-3 with less than two minutes left in the second quarter.

Arch Manning Strikes Early With A 75-Yard Touchdown Reception
The game could not have started any worse for the Commodores. After winning the coin toss and deferring, Vanderbilt’s defense looked on in distress as Manning hit Ryan Wingo for a 75-yard touchdown on the first play.

Things got worse when Pavia fumbled while under pressure, giving Texas the ball at Vanderbilt’s 29-yard line. Texas was too hot to handle at that point. Manning ran a beautiful 10-play, 83-yard scoring drive capped off by a touchdown pass to CJ Baxter, to make it 17-0 after the first quarter.
The Commodores find themselves behind in this contest by more than 20 points and it is important that Pavia rises to the occasion if Vanderbilt wants to even make a contention for a comeback.
