What Happened to Diego Pavia’s Brothers? Vanderbilt QB’s Siblings Reportedly Arrested After Team’s Win

The Vanderbilt Commodores started their season against Charleston Southern on Saturday. The game went as planned as Diego Pavia’s team registered a dominant 45-3 victory. The 24-year-old had a great outing at the FirstBank Stadium.

However, the celebration of the win turned sour after Pavia’s brothers were arrested. As per the New York Post, Roel Pavia and Javier Pavia, both older brothers, were arrested Saturday night after the quarterback took his team to victory.

It has been reported that they were arrested on misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest. Roel, 26, is facing an additional felony charge of assault on law enforcement. Diego’s brothers were released from police custody on Sunday morning. They are due in court on Tuesday.

No further details about the incident have been made public, and the Vanderbilt quarterback has yet to address the incident publicly. This comes after Diego’s impressive performance. He threw for 275 yards, completing 20 of 25 pass attempts, and had three touchdowns.

This is Diego’s final year of college run and he is looking to make the most of it. In the opening game, he made his intentions clear about the rest of the season. He made a good impression on his coach with Saturday’s performance as well.

“Diego was efficient,” Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea said. “We were moving in the run game, and we were completing passes. It looked exactly how we wanted it to look.”

The fact that the actions of his older brothers is making headlines despite his great performance must’ve caused disappointment. It was Diego’s time to shine, and he did everything right on the field, but his brothers’ arrest is making a bigger wave in the media.

Sedrick Alexander Heaped Praise On Diego Pavia

The Commodores running back, Sedrick Alexander, had a good game as well. He registered 83 rushing yards on 12 attempts and grabbed a 26-yard touchdown. After the game, Alexander focused more on praising Pavia for his performance.

“Diego did good. If you’re quarterback is going 20 for 25, you should be winning that game,” Alexander said. “If your running back is running the ball and catching passes like that, you’re supposed to win the game.”

Alexander stated that Pavia was great throughout the fall camp, and based on what he saw from his teammate, he knew he could perform at a high level on any given night. The RB applauded Pavia’s determination to put up a winning performance.

The game was sold out with 35,000 fans in attendance. As per coach Lea, it played a role in motivating the players. More importantly, he stated that he isn’t taking the crowd for granted, meaning that the Commodores will continue to play entertaining and dominant football.
