Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia may be dealing with an off-field issue that concerns one of his loved ones if it’s proven to be true. On Saturday, Nov. 29, Pavia and the rest of coach Clark Lea’s 2025 Commodores faced coach Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers for their Week 12 game of the current college football campaign in away territory, the Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.
After the game, however, speculations arose all over social media about Diego Pavia’s father, Roel, allegedly being arrested by the police for what many assume as misconduct during the hotly contested affair. This is especially fueled by an upload by user @jwtnvol on X/Twitter that shows authorities escorting an individual out, but it is not yet determined to be the Commodores star’s father.

College football fans and spectators then speculate on whether or not Diego Pavia’s father was really arrested, as the photo did not show a clear indication of such.
“Is this real? I saw that his brother got arrested, but his dad?!? 😳,” one user questioned with an emoji.
“Why was his dad arrested? Vandy won,” another user shared.
“You ‘think’ he’s the real dad?,” another said.
“They figured out who his dad was? Lol,” a user pointed out.
Other users all over X/Twitter are then just hoping that Diego Pavia’s dad was not actually arrested and instead was someone else.
“I really really really hope that this isn’t true,” one user wrote.
“Not his dad,” another user claimed.
“Probably his brother lol,” a user posted.
Whether or not it is proven to be true that Roel Pavia was arrested, or even Diego Pavia’s brother, Javier, the fourth-year standout continues on with his senior year of collegiate football at Vanderbilt. He spent his first two years of his college tenure with the New Mexico State Aggies before transferring to the Commodores in 2024 and spent the last couple of seasons there. Diego Pavia is looking to deliver a national title to his program this year.

The Vanderbilt Commodores Convincingly Beat The Tennessee Volunteers In A Hostile Environment
Despite the reports that someone from Diego Pavia’s family, whether it’s his father or brother, was arrested during his Week 12 game, it seems as though the veteran did not let this affect his game as he led his Vanderbilt Commodores to a 21-point triumph, 45-24, over the Tennessee Volunteers. The Commodores end the 2025 regular season with a 10-2 overall record (6-2 SEC) as they await their postseason opponents.
