According to 247Sports, Jaden Rashada was the sixth-ranked quarterback and a top-50 player in the 2023 recruiting class. He garnered lots of interest from some of the top schools in the country, including the Florida Gators, whom Rashada committed to before they allegedly pulled out on a multi-million dollar NIL agreement.
This led to Rashada suing head coach Billy Napier and other Florida staff.

Jaden Rashada Lawsuit Details
Rashada originally committed to the Miami Hurricanes in June of 2022 before de-committing and flipping his commitment to Florida on the grounds that, according to Rashada, he would receive a 13.85 million dollar four-year contract to sign with the Gators.
A judge ruled Tuesday that Jaden Rashada’s fraudulent misrepresentation/inducement, conspiracy to commit fraud and negligent misrepresentation claims against Florida coach Billy Napier and others will move to discovery and go towards trial.

However, allegedly, Florida pulled out of that deal after he signed, leaving him to decommit from Florida and lose the nearly 14 million dollars that he thought he would receive.
Rashada sued Florida Gators’ Napier, former Florida NIL director Marcus Castro-Walker, and Florida booster Hugh Hathcock for breaking the agreement on the grounds of tortious interference, fraudulent misrepresentation and inducement, conspiracy to commit fraud, and negligent misrepresentation.
The lawsuit went to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, where the Judge dismissed Rashada’s claims of tortious interference but now all other of the charges are going to discovery and then most likely to trial.
It’s not evident which side is going to win, but according to the judge of the case, Rashada presented enough evidence under Florida law to have this case go to trial.
After Rashada decommitted from Florida, he committed to Arizona State, where he played for one season before transferring to Georgia in 2024.
