Deiondra Sanders Gets 100% Real on Brother Shedeur Sanders’ Dramatic NFL Draft Slide

Former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was projected to be a top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Many draft experts even projected him to go within the first 10 picks. However, he ended up having a historic draft slide to the fifth round before he was selected by the Cleveland Browns.

While Shedeur Sanders has handled his draft slide with grace, it was not easy for anyone in the Sanders family at the time. On Friday, Shedeur’s sister, Deiondra Sanders, posted a video on her YouTube channel where she discussed what it was like to watch the draft slide in April. She expressed how heartbreaking it was to watch.

“Oh my gosh, heartbreaking to see. It was very heartbreaking to see, especially Shedeur,” Deiondra Sanders said (Timestamp 3:50). “Now Shilo, everyone knows he’s the jokester. So from day one he was like, “Oh I’m definitely not getting drafted if he doing this,” everyone know that.

“So, Shilo handled things a lot different but with Shedeur it was very heartbreaking to see because he works so hard, but it’s still a blessing where he went because you know God does everything, and if you read the verse about the 144th lamb and the father, it all comes correlation. So, we just gonna be thankful God knew what he was doing, but it was very heartbreaking to see.”

Deiondra Sanders Discusses Shedeur Sanders’ Prank Caller at the 2025 NFL Draft

In the video, Deiondra Sanders also discussed an infamous incident from the 2025 NFL draft. After Shedeur Sanders fell out of the first round, most draft experts expected him to be selected early in the second round on Day 2. While that did not happen, Shedeur Sanders received a prank call. He got a call from someone pretending to be the New Orleans Saints, claiming they were planning to pick him with the 40th pick.

The caller asked Sanders how he was doing, to which he responded, “Good, been waiting on you.” The Caller then responded, “Gonna have to wait a little bit longer,” before hanging up.

Deiondra Sanders spoke about how it added to the heartbreak because they thought it was real. She said it was shocking for the Sanders family when they discovered it was a prank call. It was later revealed that Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s son made the prank call.
