Deiondra Sanders Slams Misconceptions Around Coach Prime’s Replies To Critics: “They Think He’s Cocky”

Ever since Deion Sanders made the high-profile move from Jackson State to Boulder with his sons in December 2022, the glare of college football’s spotlight has brought a steady stream of criticism. Although the Sanders family has stood by each other’s side through the harshness, Deiondra Sanders used her latest podcast appearance to push back against what she sees as unfair narratives surrounding her father.

Speaking on rapper Reginae Carter’s “Heir Time,” Deiondra didn’t hold back, describing the public’s perception as incomplete. She explained that most people only encounter him in “work mode,” whether on the sidelines or in front of cameras.

“He’ll be the coolest person that you ever meet,” she said, stressing that critics rarely witness him in “family mode,” where his warmth and generosity shine.

The online chatter often ignores his “heart of gold” and instead twists his confidence into arrogance.

“The only thing I could really say is like they think he cocky but really he confident,” she emphasized, pointing to the deeper issue. “They be mad when you know a Black man be real confident within their-self and what they can offer to the table. And I love that.” [13:20]

For Deiondra, much criticism is rooted in envy, not reality. Her father’s openness makes him magnetic, even if it invites detractors.

At 33, Deiondra has built a thriving career, helming her LoveMe Extensions brand while cultivating a substantial online following. However, she embraces family life with son Snow Que and the Sanders clan while supporting her brothers Deion Jr., Shilo, and Shedeur Sanders.

As Prime turned 58, Deiondra expressed gratitude for his guidance and his being an inspiration for her and the Sanders family. Her message carried greater significance this year, as Prime endured a serious health battle, undergoing bladder-removal surgery after cancer diagnosis just months ago. The operation was a success, and his medical team has since confirmed that he is cancer-free.
