Deion Sanders’ son, Shilo Sanders, visited Tampa High School over the weekend to continue his preparation for the 2025 NFL season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former Colorado Buffaloes safety posted a video of his visit to the school on his YouTube channel, as he can be seen training in the football field, talking with students on campus, and doing strength training in the gym.
In the video, he opened up about the differences between playing for the Buffaloes and the Buccaneers.
“My breathing feels better than it did in Colorado,” Shilo said.
At 5430 feet, Boulder is at a much higher altitude than Tampa, which is at sea level. It’s understandable that after years of playing at a high altitude, where oxygen is scarce, an athlete will feel better while playing at sea level.
Altitude training is a staple of high-performance athlete training. However, the gains are lost soon after an individual leaves the high-altitude area, and their performance starts to decrease after around four weeks. Don’t expect this to be Shilo’s ace in the hole.
“Today, if we did what we did here in Colorado, bro, I would have died, but I’m feeling good, and the heat is not even that hot,” he added. “It makes you feel comfortable. Like it makes you really like warmed up comfortable, but really, bro, the altitude in Colorado made it so hard.”
Shilo Sanders Loses Signing Bonus Through a Mini Golf Bet
As an undrafted free agent, Shilo Sanders is set to receive $2.9 million from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the next three years. While the 25-year-old didn’t make the NFL Draft, he still managed considerable money upon joining the NFL (although significantly less than the $4.2 million that the last draft is going to make).
What was more modest was his signing bonus of $1572. Adding insult to injury, he lost almost the entire amount to a friend in a recent golf bet. In a video on his YouTube channel, Shilo Sanders can be seen visiting a mini golf course, where he decided to bet $1000 with a friend.
“We got something on this game – whoever wins this game gets $1,000,” Said Shilo Sanders.
“I’m about to take your money. $1,000. I’m about to take your money,” his friend Dom Replied.
After he was defeated, Shilo jokingly said:
“All right, y’all. For a band-for a thousand-hey, bro, we’re going to have to squabble over this.”
His friend went on to playfully point out that Shilo didn’t win even one hole in their mini golf match.
