Shedeur Sanders’ NFL journey has been a bit different than what the Sanders family would’ve assumed it to be. While projected to be the top pick, he later ended up sliding to the fifth round and was picked by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th overall pick.
While many fans wanted to see Sanders as the Browns’ QB1, the franchise went with veteran QB Joe Flacco and named ex Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel as his backup QB, leaving Sanders as the QB3.
During his appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” show, Coach Prime was asked about one advice he would give to his son, Shedeur, to which he said:
“Be patient and be ready. There you go. Be patient and be ready. That’s all you can do. I don’t want you to they call your name and you ain’t ready. Don’t let that happen, we ain’t built like that, Sanders. We ain’t built like that. We always ready. We don’t have to get ready. And I want you to be patient. You don’t force nothing that ain’t that that it may not be time. You know, I drink coffee every morning.” (11:28)
“That’s one thing I do. I don’t pull the coffee cup off the darn maker before it’s ready. You got to be prepared, right? Put my ingredients in. I make it right. But I’m like, son, you got to be ready. You got to be ready when it’s time. But when it’s time, you going to know. and saying and it’s coming up. You know, I got a prediction. I ain’t telling nobody. I got a feeling when it’s gonna go down, but it’s gonna go down. It’s gonna happen. All right. Yeah, he gonna get a shot,” he added.

Steve Harvey on Shedeur Sanders’ Future With Browns
During an appearance on Ryan Clark’s show, “The Pivot Podcast,” Steve Harvey was asked about his views on the quarterback situation at Cleveland.
Harvey started off by saying he’s a longtime Browns fan but it’s been hard being one as they haven’t won anything in a long time. He shared that he doesn’t believe Flacco is a permanent solution for the Browns as he would probably get injured in the next few games.
The TV star further said he hopes they give Shedeur Sanders a chance to show off his capabilities, however, he thinks the franchise will rather just end up trading the ex Colorado quarterback.
