“Prime Needs To Be Worried About Keeping His Job”: Fans Slam Deion Sanders Over Comments On Travis Hunter Usage in Jacksonville

Deion Sanders’ ex-Colorado star, Travis Hunter, was among the best college football players in 2024. While he was an absolute weapon on the offensive side of the ball, he proved himself to be just as good on the defensive side.

Before the 2025 NFL Draft, Coach Prime also gave the pro teams a warning, saying that if they don’t plan on letting Hunter play on both sides of the ball, they shouldn’t pick him.

During the latest episode of “Night Cap” on YouTube, Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson weighed in on Hunter’s situation at Jacksonville after Coach Prime shared his opinion on the matter, drawing mixed reactions from fans online.

“Prime needs to be worried about keeping his job in Colorado,” a fan wrote.

“The problem isn’t the coaches, it’s people like Shannon and Prime that choose to ignore the fact that he is the one who wants to do this, they would rather push the narrative that ‘oh people need to stop asking him to play both sides,’“ one fan commented.

“Deion does not have to publicly comment on this. Yes he has his own opinion about it. Just let Travis and his new team work it out,” another fan added.

“Prime should be worrying about Colorado players,” another fan wrote.

“Lord have mercy from a prime fan you gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em smh,” another fan pointed out.

“Coach prime needs to worry about his players and coaching staff at Colorado,” another fan bluntly added.

Deion Sanders Weighs In on Travis Hunter’s Usage at Jacksonville

During his appearance on the show called “New Heights” by Jason and Travis Kelce on September 22, Coach Prime was asked whether Hunter is being used to the best of his potential, to which he replied, “definitely not,” adding that the Jaguars are not using him enough.

Sanders said he has seen Hunter’s potential on an everyday basis for three years straight and knows what he’s capable of.

“So, you didn’t need to use him on a Tuesday or Monday. You don’t use him like that. But Travis is a big kid, man. He just loves the game. He loves football. He loves studying. He loves the preparation,” he added.

Hunter won the Heisman Trophy honor in his final season at Colorado and also had his jersey number retired along with Shedeur Sanders.
