Colorado HC Deion Sanders Makes Thoughts Very Clear As DeSean Jackson And Michael Vick Go Head To Head In Intense Matchup

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is not the only former NFL player to start a second career as a college coach. While he is one of the biggest names in college football because of his success at Colorado in previous years, there are several other former players who are early in their college coaching careers. Notably, both DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick started their head coaching careers this season.

DeSean Jackson is the head coach of Delaware State and Michael Vick is the head coach of Norfolk State. The two teams faced off on Thursday, and Jackson’s Hornets came out on top with a 27-20 win. The Hornets are having a strong first season with Jackson, achieving a 6-3 record thus far. Conversely, Vick’s Spartans have struggled, only winning one of their first nine games.

Both coaches are friends with Coach Prime, and as a result, it was emotional for Sanders to watch their teams face off. He posted on X after the game, expressing his feelings for his friends.

“This Brought tears to my eyes! I love these brothers to LIFE & they know it. Thank you men for answering the call,” Deion Sanders wrote.

Delaware State sits at the top of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference standings. Conversely, Norfolk State resides at the bottom.

Deion Sanders’ Team Has Struggled Like Michael Vick’s This Season

While Deion Sanders was happy to watch his two friends compete on Thursday night, he has not been happy with the Colorado Buffaloes’ performance this season. Most fans and experts expected the team to regress this season with the departure of two-way star Travis Hunter and QB Shedeur Sanders. However, it has been worse than most expected.

The Buffaloes are 3-5 and have struggled to build any momentum. They are coming off a 53-7 loss to the No. 24-ranked Utah Utes.

While the Buffaloes have struggled, Coach Prime has remained dedicated to getting them prepared for each matchup. They are back in action on Saturday against Arizona. The goal for the rest of the seaosn for the Buffaloes will be to reach six wins to qualify for a bowl game.
