$60M Worth Deion Sanders Boldly Draws Parallels Between Him and Lamborghini in Netflix’ Latest Dallas Cowboys Documentary

Within Netflix’s recent documentary series “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys,” Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders gives one of his best soundbites to date. The $60 million head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders, doesn’t just discuss his time with the Cowboys; he likens himself to a Lamborghini while noting that he has changed the game of professional football in an uncharacterized way.

“The way i changed the game, that you were concerned about me, I wasn’t concerned about you. Because I run like a Lamborghini. I put pressure on people”,  he stated

Pressure aint on me, pressure’s on them because you prepared and you studied,” he further reflected in the docu-series.

What makes Sanders’ commentary so well done is his psychological frame of mind while playing. He notes how he turned the pressure away from him and put it rightly on opposing offenses.

The timing of the documentary is perfect for Sanders as he prepares for his third season of leading Colorado with star players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter heading to the NFL this program will be presented with new challenges. However, Sanders has addressed the losses with recruiting and has been able to get transfers like quarterback Kaidon Salter from Liberty and the incoming freshman star Julian “JuJu” Lewis.

Buffaloes’ Best Record Since 2016 Under Sanders’ Leadership

Post taking charge of the Colorado Buffaloes program that won just one game in the 2022 season, Sanders has pulled off one of the most notable turnarounds in college football.

Sanders’ influence on Colorado’s transformation has had a deep positive impact to the program’s success. The Buffaloes were 9-4 in 2024 and had their best record since 2016, finishing tied for first in the Big 12 regular season, allowing Sanders to sign a five-year, $54 million contract to extend his current contract, bringing his yearly salary to $10 million and putting him among the top earners in college football.

The Buffaloes will open their 2025 season against Georgia Tech on August 29, with expectations much higher than they have been in years. Although they are 4-point underdogs in their season opener, Sanders has created a buzz around the program that goes far beyond Boulder, Colorado.
