Deion Sanders’ third year with the Colorado Buffaloes didn’t start the way Buffaloes fans would have hoped. In a 27–20 loss to Georgia Tech, it wasn’t just the Yellow Jackets’ delayed heroics that grabbed the attention, but it was the Buffs’ struggles in Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders’ absence that caught eyeballs.
However, Coach Prime’s puzzling late-game decisions also became a bone of contention for many, and fans seldom turn a blind eye to someone like him. Within minutes of the final whistle, X lit up with jokes, GIFs, and side-by-side edits roasting Coach Prime’s late-game strategy.
Here are the Top 7 Deion Sanders memes that defined the night, as the Buffaloes stumbled out of the gate and Georgia Tech celebrated its biggest road win in years.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King delivered the dagger with a 45-yard touchdown run in the final minute, his third rushing score on a night where he piled up 299 yards of total offense. Colorado transfer QB Kaidon Salter, who was chosen over Julian Lewis recently, flashed his dual-threat ability with both a passing and rushing touchdown. However, he couldn’t take full advantage of multiple turnovers, leaving the door open for Georgia Tech.
The difference in turnovers also set the stage for what fans called one of Sanders’ most head-scratching finishes at Colorado. With two timeouts in his pocket and under a minute left, Sanders let the clock burn, limiting the Buffaloes’ chances at a comeback.

Deion Sanders never fails to get people talking, and this season opener was no different. Before Colorado even kicked off against Georgia Tech, fans were buzzing over something unusual on the Buffaloes’ sideline, a portable toilet placed right next to the bench.
As it turns out, this wasn’t just a gimmick. Sanders, who underwent bladder reconstruction surgery earlier this year, explained that due to the smaller size of his new bladder, he might need quick access during games.
“I know I got halftime, but can I make it through a game? What if there’s a long quarter?” he previously said in an interview with Michael Irvin, joking about adding a Porta Potty for emergencies.

The setup is sponsored, of course, but the reason is rooted in Sanders’ health journey following his cancer battle. At 58, Coach Prime is entering his third season in Boulder, looking to keep Colorado competitive even after losing Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.
