Deion Sanders and his family were reduced to mere spectators as the 2025 NFL Draft witnessed one of its most controversial moments back in April. Ex-Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders unexpectedly slid from Round 1 to Round 5 with the overall 144th pick.
Understandably, the moment was tough for the Sanders family. However, the more hurtful was the hatred that surrounded the Sanders clan even before the draft. While it has been over a month, Deion Sanders Jr., the eldest of the Sanders brothers, reignited the controversy by releasing a new rap song and finally addressing the criticism faced during the draft.
Deion Sanders Jr. Responds to Family Critics With Bold New Rap Song
Deion Sanders Jr., who now stays away from the grit of the football field, doesn’t shy away from calling out online haters, especially when it involves his family or the Colorado Buffaloes. In a recent rap, he turned up the volume on the controversy his family faced during the 2025 NFL Draft.
His new track, “5 for 5,” which was released earlier this week on his YouTube channel and several other streaming platforms, features Shedeur Sanders and mocks the doubters.

In step with the song’s release, Sanders Jr. took to X to share a glimpse of the song. Sanders Jr. wrote, “THEY THOUGHT WE WOULD SCREAM MERCY ME PLZ GIVE ME BREAK.” Meanwhile, the lyrics that directly addressed the hate said, “They online hating on the fam; n**** where your bag at?”
The track quickly stirred reactions online, with many fans of Shedeur and Colorado football resonating with the song. Some praised it, with one fan saying, “This s*** slap 😮💨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥” and another noting, “This song is actually fire.”

However, not everyone was impressed. Some criticized the lyrics and delivery, sharing mixed reactions such as: “Too many curse words. 🙉 This is not of God.”
While some felt the song was average, they noted, “Well, that’s garbage,” “This is so cringe bro,” and “At least it’s not autotuned. I give him credit for that.”

Yet, you can’t satisfy everyone, especially when the song’s subject is already controversial. While “Bucky” isn’t a full-time artist yet, he uses his YouTube channel to make his way as an artist and bring behind-the-scenes coverage of the Buffaloes to the fans.

Meanwhile, the draft slide became an online sensation, helping boost NFL Draft viewership this year by 40% compared to last year, and let’s just say every lyric in Bucky’s new rap song highlights that impact.
As Sanders Jr.’s brother, Shedeur, readies for his rookie NFL season with the Browns, there has already been massive social buzz around whether he will win the starting quarterback job.
Regardless, he’s expected to take some snaps during the preseason. Cleveland’s first preseason scrimmage will be on August 8 against the Carolina Panthers.
