Days After Coach Prime’s Cancer News, Deion Sanders Jr. Drops 4-Word Comment With Heartwarming Snaps

Two days after Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders’ emotional press conference in Boulder, his son, Deion Sanders Jr., who has been by Coach Prime’s side ever since the family discovered about the Hall of Famer’s aggressive form of bladder cancer, shared a heartwarming post.

Sanders Jr. posted photos with his father, documenting their relationship over the years on and off the field. He accompanied the Instagram post with a three-word reaction filled with gratitude:

    “God is the greatest.”

Earlier this year, during a routine vascular evaluation, Coach Prime was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer. He opted for complete bladder removal and then had a new bladder done using part of his small intestine. The surgery was successful, and his oncologist declared him cancer‑free following the procedure.

Coach Prime is now officially cancer-free and has confirmed he will lead the Colorado Buffaloes into the 2025 season, which kicks off August 29 versus Georgia Tech.

Deion Sanders Honors Son’s Dedication During Cancer Battle

Deion Sanders is a father of five children namely Deiondra, Deion Jr., Shedeur, Shilo and Shelomi. While all the other children were busy with their respective professions, it was Deion Jr. who stayed with his dad at Texas Ranch.

While Shedeur and Shilo are busy taking their NFL careers off the ground, Shelomi is in the middle of her college basketball career with Alabama A&M. Deiondra is also busy being a mother to a soon-to-be one-year-old toddler, Baby Snow. While they also frequently visited Coach Prime every now and then, Deion Jr. received massive praise.

In the press conference on Monday, Deion Sanders made sure to credit Deion Jr. for his support during his health crisis.

“Much love to my son, Junior, who has not left my side since we found out what was taking place,” Sanders said. “Not one day. He’s been with me here; he’s been with me in Texas. He’s been with me everywhere. Every day, I’ve seen his handsome face. I love you to life, son, and I thank you for everything that you’ve brought to the table.”

Interestingly, Deion Jr. was the only one among his siblings fully informed of the diagnosis, and he remained beside his father across Texas and Colorado. He accompanied Sanders to doctor visits and helped with recovery.

It remains to be seen how Deion Jr. helps his father in Boulder now that Coach Prime will have to navigate through the college football season without his other two sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders.
