Deion Sanders’ Colorado faces their 8th loss of the season at their last home game against Arizona State in week 13.
The Buffaloes were only able to put 17 points on the table while the Sun Devils secured 42, leaving Julian Lewis and Co. with another 20+ points loss in the 2025 college football season.
While Coach Prime already tried a few changes in the middle of the season with 3 quarterbacks on the roster, and an offensive coach change in hopes of turning things around, that clearly wasn’t enough.
Talking about the plans to improve going ahead, Deion Sanders said in the post-game press conference:
“It’s not one thing, because if I say one thing you guys are going to attack the other things that I didn’t say and I’m not going to give you that,” Sanders said. “I’m gonna say it’s multiple things that will need to change, and it will. As a matter of fact, it’s already in progress. We could throw stones at everybody. I always say you start with me.”
Coach Prime when asked what changes need to be made this offseason:

“Two plays to me changed the whole course of the game — a fumble and an explosion right after the fumble,” Sanders said. “The gentleman who fumbled, that’s on me. I put him in the game to try to have a change of pace. I figured he was gonna hit it, and he hit it. And he fumbled. It is what it is.” Sanders said about crucial moments that contributed to the massive loss.

Jason Whitlock Rips Deion Sanders Amid Colorado’s 3–8 Season in 2025
The last couple of weeks have been difficult for Coach Prime and Co. as they faced big losses with 35+ points against Utah and Arizona, amid other disappointing losses.
Jason Whitlock, who has been a longtime critic of Deion and his family, took the opportunity to rip apart the Colorado head coach and said that the team is suffering because he is not all in.
He further took a shot at Deion’s mentality of not going on recruiting trips and expecting players to come to him.
“And it’s because Deion Sanders isn’t all in. And this whole remaking of football that Deion was going to do and I’m going to sit at home and recruits are going to come to me because I’m the greatest and everybody wants to play for me. It’s crashing and burning. No one really cares.” he added.
Colorado will now play Kansas State in their last game of 2025 on Saturday.
