Like his legendary father, Deion Sanders, Shedeur Sanders is in the spotlight. Already making waves as a top football player, the star quarterback shares his dad’s love for luxurious cars.
However, their automotive tastes are quite different. When the elder Sanders gifted his son a vintage 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC — a piece of automotive history — Shedeur didn’t show much enthusiasm. And well, his reaction and comment hit Deion’s nerves.

Deion Sanders’ Thoughtful Gift to Shedeur Sanders Misfires
Earlier this week, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach revealed the first car he gifted Shedeur while he was in high school.
It was a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC, and the moment was to be memorable. However, to Coach Sanders’ surprise, the young QB didn’t quite share his father’s enthusiasm for the vintage ride, probably finding it a relic from a bygone era.
In an Instagram video shared by rtpclips, Coach prime recounts his son’s reaction to the car he gifted him. Sanders believes his son didn’t quite know the car’s value.

“The 1989 SEC 560 was the biggest Benz that they featured. It could only be a drop-top if you sent it to a factory to get it cut. That was another $15,000-$20,000 just to get the top cut off to convert it into a convertible. That was my first high-level whip that I paid for when I was going to the pros.”
Sanders continued, “He said that car smells like gas, which I don’t remember. I don’t recall that because the car was in perfect condition. May have needed to be run a little bit, but it was in great condition.”
While their car tastes might clash, the father and son are a powerhouse duo on the football field. Coach Prime has been guiding his son to superstardom at quarterback since his high school days at Trinity Christian High School, where Coach Prime was the offensive coordinator.
