‘There’s No Way’: Deion Sanders’ Ex Wife Pilar Left Stunned by Fans During Son Shedeur’s Event

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders has had a busy year. He started the year as one of the projected top picks in the 2025 NFL draft. He then had a huge slide on draft night, falling to the fifth round before the Cleveland Browns selected him.

While he has gone through his personal struggles, Sanders appears to be taking the journey in stride and with a positive attitude. He is even getting involved in the Cleveland community despite not being guaranteed a starting role on the Browns next season.

On Wednesday, Shedeur Sanders helped host Garden Valley Fun Fest for community support after tragic fires broke out in an apartment complex on June 23. It resulted in more than 40 families being displaced and one man dying.

While he cannot replace their homes, Sanders took the opportunity to help put smiles on the faces of those in the community with the Garden Valley Fun Fest. Sanders’ mom, and Deion Sanders’ ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, attended the event and had a funny reaction to one of the rides, posting it on her Instagram story on Wednesday.

“Yeah, there’s no way,” Pilar Sanders said. “Oh, absolutely not.”

Shedeur Sanders Speaks About His Involvement in the Cleveland Community

Shedeur Sanders was not in Cleveland when the first broke out in the Rainbow Terrace Apartments on June 23. However, he heard about it on social media and knew he wanted to do what he could to help when he got back. He spoke about this at the event on Wednesday.

“When everything transpired, I was out of town, so I was like, ‘Nah, the first thing I do when I get back is definitely come to the community,'” Sanders said. “This is just off an Instagram DM. I didn’t really know about the situation; someone told me. I was like ‘Dang that’s crazy,’ and I just wanted a day for everybody to get out here and have some type of enjoyment, excitement, bring just the family atmosphere back.”

Sanders was not the only Cleveland athlete to appear at the community event on Wednesday. Cleveland Browns defensive end Mike Hall Jr. also attended the event, along with boxer Montana Love.

Sanders put a smile on his face with his teammate, Mike Hall Jr. They found an open field and brought some of the kids over for a game of pickup football. While this event did not return the homes the community members lost, it helped put a smile on their faces during a dark time.
