On Monday, it was revealed that Deion Sanders had been out of the public eye for months because he had been recovering from a tumor removal surgery in the spring. The tumor was located in Sanders’s bladder, and it was removed by Dr. Janet Kukreja, who is a specialist in urological oncology at UCHealth.
Now, after the reveal, Deion Sanders has been sharing through social media some never-before-seen images of his recovery in May. One of these was a video that showed him fishing at his ranch in Canton, Texas, on May 19.
The video showed him with what seemed to be a blood collection bag hanging from his side.

The video publication comes after a press conference by the University of Colorado on Monday, where Deion Sanders, alongside Buffaloes’ assistant athletic trainer Lauren Askevold, and Dr. Janet Kukreja, spoke about the diagnosis process and the removal procedure.
According to Askevold, the issue was discovered through the usual CT scans done of Sanders to check up on his blood clot issues. The Colorado coach has dealt with blood clots in his legs over the last few years and even had to have some of his fingers on his feet amputated.
Askevold said that while the CT scans came clear for his vascular system, an appointment with a urologist led to the discovery of the tumor.

Deion Sanders signed his will due to health concerns and tumor removal
Another video was published this Monday by Deion Sanders Jr.’s YouTube channel, “Well Off Media.”, which showed Coach Prime struggling through some medical and legal decisions related to his tumor removal. Specifically, the video revealed that the Buffaloes’ coach signed his will, amid concerns that he could not survive the procedure.
Deion Sanders was visibly moved by the decision he had made and said:
“I don’t know if I’m ready mentally, emotionally. Yesterday was tough because I had to make a will. That’s not easy, at all, to think that you might not be there, but you want to make sure everybody is straight.” (3:18)
There are still some concerns about how ready Sanders will be for the upcoming 2025 season, but it seems like the worst has passed.
