Following their Week 1 defeat to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Colorado Buffaloes, under Deion Sanders, returned to form with a victory over Delaware. The Buffs came out on top 31-7 against the Blue Hens.
For the game, the Boulder program used a new uniform, with an all-black kit, paired with white helmets. Fans online were divided, judging from their reactions on social media.

“Pretty fire,” a fan wrote.
“Would work with white shoes and black sock. Not a huge fan tbh,” said one fan.
“Yuck. Our uni combos have been awful under Deion. Give me gold helmets always,” complained another fan.
“Horrific. The gold #’s have got to go. Looks too much like UCF, USF, etc,” claimed one person.
“There’s a place for the white lids but I haven’t figured out where yet. Maybe all white unis? But I want to see more of the gold helmets and I prefer them on top of the all-black unis,” said someone else with a touch of irony.
The criticism of some fans was more nuanced:
“Black helmets would of been better,” wrote another person.
“Terrible the while helmets look bad with the all black,” explained someone.
Some didn’t even care, it seems.
“They could wear peewee uniforms for all I give a sh*t. Get out there and get the job done. Win this game by 5tds and show us you’re ready for some big12 football,” said a fan.

Deion Sanders May Bench Kaidon Salter and Make Ryan Staub Colorado’s New Starter
Halfway through the game, Deion Sanders decided to bench Kaidon Salter, who once again looked ineffective for the Colorado Buffaloes. In came Ryan Staub, who, despite having fewer opportunities to throw the ball, came out as Colorado’s leading passer in the game.
Both Salter and Staub got four drives to lead the team, while QB3 Julian Lewis got three snaps of the ball towards the end of the encounter. Salter threw for 102 yards while completing 81.2% of his passes. He also ran for 25 yards, scoring one rushing touchdown.
Meanwhile, Staub threw for 157 yards, with two touchdown passes and a 70% completion percentage.
Speaking after the game, Deion Sanders praised him, nicknaming him “Martin Luther Staub,” and claiming that the signal-caller “had a dream.”
