“I Aint Totally Proud”: $60M Worth Deion Sanders Expresses Frustration With Buffs During Colorado-Delaware Halftime in Week 2

After a frustrating Week 1 loss, Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes returned to Folsom Field with something to prove. From the opening drive against Delaware, the energy felt different. Kaidon Salter led a long, composed march down the field that set the tone, and the defense matched the effort by keeping Delaware in check.

The game wasn’t flawless early, Colorado stalled at times and even saw Delaware come close before halftime, but the Buffs looked determined not to let this one slip. That wouldn’t have happened without a motivational talk by Coach Prime.

In a video uploaded by Reach The People Media on YouTube, Sanders can be heard talking to his players. At halftime, the Buffaloes had a 17-7 lead. Even with the game in control, Coach Prime wasn’t happy with the team’s performance.

Surrounded by the players inside the locker room, he shared his thoughts on the game so far.

“We winning the game, but do you feel good about it? Why [don’t you feel good about it?] Because we’re not dominating…I’m proud of y’all, but I ain’t totally proud of y’all because I know better. We’re supposed to be dominant in this game, and we’re not dominant,” Coach Prime said. (20:30)

The adrenaline-boosting talk from $60 million worth coach (as per Celebrity Net Worth) did its magic on the players. When the Buffaloes took the field for the second half of the game, their offense remained good as ever while the defense stepped up their game.

In the next two quarters, the Buffaloes added 14 points to the tally and successfully restricted the Blue Hens from making any real impact. The game ended 31-7 and marked the first win of the season for Deion Sanders’ team.

Deion Sanders Announced New Rules for His Players

An unmistakable discipline, strict routine has shaped Coach Prime’s life. So, as a coach, he expects nothing less from his players. While it might be a bit too much for young players, it’s his ship and he runs it the way he sees fit.

Last month, as the team was getting closer to the season, Deion Sanders came out with a new set of rules for his players. The list included what they’re supposed to do outside of the field and how they’re expected to behave.

“No slides,” Deion Sanders said. “I’m gonna send people to campus tomorrow. If I see you in slides on campus, it’s gonna be a problem. If I see you with a hoodie on in class with some headphones on in class, it’s gonna be a problem.”

Sanders made it clear that under his tutelage, one doesn’t only become a better player but a better human as well. Going beyond the boundaries of a football field to ensure his athletes are carrying important values in their day-to-day lives is one of the reasons why he’s such a revered coach.
