Darius Alexander’s NFL Draft Scouting Report

Darius Alexander is a versatile and explosive defensive lineman known for his power profile and elite production in the MAC. He consistently disrupts blocks with his quick first step and heavy hands, enabling him to penetrate and stack-and-shed.

Alexander’s versatility allows him to play from multiple alignments, from 1-tech to 3-tech and 4i.

His performance during the 2025 Senior Bowl further highlighted his potential, as he demonstrated dominance in 1-on-1 drills and team sessions. Alexander isn’t the most flexible in his midsection, which can limit his appeal on counters and stunts, but he’s well-leveraged, long and powerful, and a hot-motor two-phase player with elite explosive capacity.

He’s an older rookie, but he can be a quality starter early in his career.

    Darius Alexander’s NFL Draft Projection

In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Alexander landed in Round 2 with the 63rd overall pick. James Fragoza has this to say:

Chris Jones has long sought a formidable running mate, specifically against the pass, and he finally gets it in the 2025 NFL Draft. Darius Alexander’s levers for arms and first-step quickness translate to pressure generation more often than not.

And in CSN’s recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft for Day 2, Bjorn Bergstrom had this to say about Alexander’s selection to the Los Angeles Rams in Round 2 with the 46th pick:

The Rams have had success drafting young players and playing them immediately along the defensive line, and 2025 will be no different.

Some saw Alexander as a first-round talent, and if he falls this far, Los Angeles would be wise to add him to their talented defensive line, which includes Kobie Turner, Byron Young, Jared Verse, and Braden Fiske.
