Analyst Reveals Why Dante Moore Could Explode in Year 2 Under Oregon OC Will Stein

As Dante Moore enters his second year with the Ducks, On3 analyst JD PicKell believes Moore is actually all set for a breakout season under offensive coordinator Will Stein. With Stein’s system focusing on quick decision-making and Moore getting to witness it for a whole year from the front seat, he could finally get to unlock his full potential in 2025.

After Being Benched For A Year, Dante Moore Can Finally Unleash Under Will Stein

On3 analyst JD PicKell recently shared his thoughts on Moore, saying, “My biggest takeaway is he is going to be able, I think, play with better anticipation having sat for a year in that offense.”

According to him, Moore being benched for a while gave him the time to sit back, analyze, and learn how Will Stein makes things work, already giving him the upper hand when he gets to make his return.

Moore’s 2023 season at UCLA was a trial by fire. As a true freshman, he completed 52.4% of his passes for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, often learning plays on the fly in a complex offense.

“What you saw from him at UCLA was a lot of learning on the fly,” PicKell noted. That experience, while challenging, set the stage for his redshirt year at Oregon in 2024, where he absorbed Stein’s system without the pressure of being in live-game action.

Why Will Stein’s Fast-Paced Offense Could Unlock Dante Moore’s Full Potential

Will Stein’s offense is built on anticipation and speed. “Oregon’s offense runs by being a step ahead of you from the snap or from before the snap,” PicKell explained. Stein demands the ball be released within two seconds, focusing on timing rather than multiple reads.

This approach contrasts sharply with Moore’s UCLA days, where he often had to process plays mid-game. “He knows where to go with the football before the play even starts,” PicKell said, pointing at Moore’s improved readiness.

Oregon’s 2024 success, averaging 44.2 points per game and ranking second nationally, shows how effective Stein’s system is. Moore, now familiar with it, is set to benefit from a talented roster. The Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class, featuring four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, adds elite weapons to thrive greatly under Stein’s scheme. This timing could be crucial in a season where Oregon aims for a College Football Playoff spot in the expanded 12-team format.

In the end, Dante Moore’s second year at Oregon could be a turning point for his career as well as the program. JD PicKell’s analysis suggests that Moore’s year of learning Stein’s system has primed him for success. With a quarterback-friendly offense, a loaded roster, and an expanded playoff format, the stage is set for Moore to explode.
