    Wesley Set For Oregon Ducks

Wesley has chosen to head up the coast to the Oregon Ducks ahead of Ohio State, Texas, USC, and other interested programs. Wesley is rated as the third-best edge rusher and the No. 20 overall player in the country. He moved up a year and reclassified to the class of 2026, and he is one of the best players. Wesley will also be one of the youngest NIL earners next year following his move to Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks have been laying the groundwork to secure Wesley’s commitment for a while. They hosted him for the spring game last month and eventually won the race for the 250-pound edge rusher after he rejected a last-minute attempt by Ryan Day and Ohio State to sway him.

Lanning couldn’t hide his excitement at securing the youngster’s commitment, and he celebrated it in grand style. Lanning linked up with Wesley to make the announcement video in which they both jumped into a pool. The video was posted on social media and has left many fans raving.

In the video, Lanning and Wesley are relaxing at The Standard’s rooftop pool in Eugene. The camera shows Wesley saying, “There is one school that showed me the most love, and guess where I am going.” The camera then shows Lanning, who screams, “Let’s get in!” before taking off his shirt and jumping into the water along with Wesley.

Richard Wesley Commits to Oregon: What It Means for the Ducks’ Defensive Future

The Oregon Ducks will be delighted to secure Wesley’s commitment after sending a record ten players to last month’s draft. Oregon previously had the No. 22 class in the 2026 cycle, but Wesley’s commitment has moved them up to No. 14.

The highly rated edge rusher is expected to play a key role on the Ducks’ defensive line. Wesley will get many opportunities to showcase his talent, and the Ducks’ defensive future is likely to be built around the No. 3 edge in the country.
